We won’t renege on promises, says Ondo APC aspirant

AN All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Ondo State governorship election slated for November 26, Boye Oyewunmi, has reiterated his commitment to tackle failures of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration, if he gets the party’s ticket.

He spoke during his tour of some local governments to meet party leaders and delegates before the primaries.

At the meeting, he emphasised on credibility of delegates while voting for candidate.

“Our party must get it right this time, and we equally must also vote a credible candidate that will not distance himself from the party when he gets to the corridor of power.

“My intention to run is based on the need for change in Ondo through a renew agenda that will steer above board.

“It is our intention to bring leadership to the party and also ensure a continuous thrust through our performance,” he said.

The aspirant’s campaign train has visited nine local government areas so far.

He was in South Senatorial District, where over 300 people, including party leaders from ward 1-10 in Irele and Odigbo Local Government received him. His supporters and members of Agbajoowo Movement were also in attendance.

He also visited Owo and Ose local government areas.

The aspirant added that the visits were aimed at engaging and interacting with ward and local government leaders ahead of the party’s primaries.

Appreciating the reception accorded the aspirant and his supporters, the Director General of Boye Oyewunmi Campaign, Mr. Dare Ojo, stressed the need to secure the political future of Ondo in accordance with national trends.

Oyewunmi, however, pledged not to renege from all his promises to party and the state, if elected the party’s candidate and governor.

He urged the party’s leaders to make a difference by electing a credible candidate among the aspirants.

“We have good men and woman with incredible personality of delivering good electoral promises, but we must ensure that the candidate is exposed and indelible with good human relations,” he said.
