•Muslims should not carry bags to mosque, says FCT CP
The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris has ordered all Zonal headquarters and Command’s Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate during the Eid-il-fitri celebration.
He also warned the senior officers to ensure that officers are evenly deployed to cover the highways, worship and recreation centres, government installations and all vulnerable points in order to give Nigerians sense of safety and security during the celebration.
Also, the FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Alkali Usman urged Muslims not to carry bags to the praying ground as part of measures to forestall security breach during the celebration.
He also noted that the Command has developed an operation order that will effectively cover the security arrangement at all Eid praying grounds.
Usman said: “Because of the current security situation, I want to advise Muslims to guard against carrying bags and baggage to praying grounds. They are to only carry along their praying mats. This move is not to inconvenience the worshipers but a precautionary measure to guard against any eventuality,” he said.
