A 70-year-old man, Martin Nweke Aja of Ndiofia Ndiagu Umuta in Ndufu Ikwo Local Government Area of Abia State yesterday raised alarm over the disappearance of his four wives and children
The disappearance of the Septuagenarian’s family followed a recent attack and destruction of his home by suspected youths of his community.
Narrating his ordeal yesterday, Pa Aja alleged that a mob attacked his home early last month and destroyed some of his property and farmlands.
He stated that while he was still counting his loses, the mob came back last week and demolished his four residential buildings and turned the entire compound into a farmland.
He alleged that the traditional ruler of Eka Awoke community was behind his misfortunes, accusing the monarch of plotting to take over the land, which claimed he inherited from his father.
Pa Aja appealed to relevant authorities to intervene in the matter, stressing that since the incident, he had not been able to trace the whereabouts of his family.
Police spokesman in the State, DSP George Okafor, confirmed the incident.
He, however, noted that the Command has launched investigations into the alleged demolition of the four residential buildings belonging to the 70-year-old man.
The spokesman said that the police had visited the scene of the incident, stressing that those behind the attack would be arrested.
He pointed out that the first attack on the man’s household was reported to the police and that the case was taken to court.
