Ex- ADC, three children killed in Jos fire

A fire disaster from an unknown source has reportedly killed four members of a family in Jenta Adamu, Jos North local government area of Plateau State.

The fire was said to have engulfed the family residence of Mr. Anthony Kwanmi where six of the family members were sleeping at about 2:00am on Monday.

Those killed in the fire disaster are Mr. Kwanmi Anthony (father), Miss Theresa Anthony (daughter), Emmanuel Anthony (son) and Miss Kerry Anthony (daughter).

The man (Mr. Anthony) was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) who served as Aide- de Camp (ADC) to the second civilian governor of Plateau State, Fidelis Tapgun, in 1992.

Neighbours alleged that the fire  started from an electric surge at the victims’ apartment and before the sleeping family could realize what was going on, they have been consumed by a ball of fire.

One of the neighbours, Joshua Dung, said, “We had to break the wall through another neighbours wall before we could rescue the wife and one of the children.”
