Yobe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sworn in its 27-member new executives to run the party’s affairs for the next four years.
The members were sworn in by the PDP zonal person Amb. Emmanuel Njiwa at Zonal Headquarters in Bauchi yesterday.
Amb. Njiwa charged them to work diligently as a team to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) that has been ruling Yobe State for a long time.
Among the new executive council were the State Secretary, Engr. Mohammed Jajere, and Zone B vice chair of the party, Engr. Sa’idu Adamu Haram.?
Lamenting that PDP has never won significantly in the state since 1999, Njiwa enjoined the new executives “to ensure that Yobe State is placed as one of the states on PDP map,” adding that “electorate in Yobe State must be convinced to vote PDP come 2019.”
He urged them to take advantage of the electorate’s dissatisfaction with APC to ensure overwhelming victory for the PDP.
Reacting, the new state party chair, Gana Lawan Karasuwa, said: “On behalf of the new executives, I assure you that the new leadership of the party in the state is prepared to place PDP in charge of Yobe State.”
Other members of the Exco who received their certificates during the inauguration included the State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Umaru Amale, Assistant Secretary, Amadu Babule Biriri and Treasurer, Alhaji Inusa Gimba.
