ARRANGEMENTS have been concluded for the Oba Adeyemi United Boxing Tournament, put together to commemorate the 78th birthday of the Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi scheduled for 8th to 15th October 2016 at the palace square, Oyo.
The financier and organizer of the boxing tournament, who is also a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) title belt Champion, Mojeed Okedara said that the amateur boxing tourney was purposely designed to discover potential talents in boxing as well as getting more people involved in the promotion of boxing sport in the country, especially the South/West part of the country where the participants are expected.
The United State of America based Okedara noted that the tournament, which will feature only amateur boxers in eleven different boxing categories will witness new innovation in the boxing game part of which is the introduction of belt for the winners of various categories.
He opined that partnership arrangement has been concluded with the Florida Boxing Association to train and further sponsor winners of the various categories including their visa acquisition.
