‘Change Akeredolu’s running mate’

TWO leaders of Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend urged the party’s national leadership to remove the name of Agboola Ajayi as Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s running mate.

The chieftains, Bola Ilori and Chief Samuel Ikujuni, said failure to do so might spell doom for the party at the November 26 poll.

Ilori lamented that the party’s national leadership was yet to put its house in order following a rancor, which occurred after the primary, but decided to embark on another blunder that might deem its chance.

Ikujuni, in a statement, said Ajayi should not be allowed as the running mate because he is from Kiribo in Eseodo Local Government, the same town and Council Area of Akeredolu’s mother.

According to him, it would be another crisis if two brothers were allowed to be the governorship and deputy governorship candidate of the APC.

He urged the party’s leaders to consider picking the running mate from Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo federal constituency area.

He justified his decision with the voting strength of the constituency.
