Lagos to hold ‘Abilities Expo’

THE Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA) is to hold “Abilities Expo 2016”, from December 1 to December 3, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

LASODA will partner Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on General Duties to deliver this year’s event.

The event will host Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, heads of ministries, departments and agencies, chief executive officers from the private sector and important dignitaries in Lagos State and Nigeria.

The theme for this year’s event is: “Ability to do more’. The event will close with special performances by Persons Living with Disabilities (PLDs).

LASODA annually celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities as marked around the world on December 3, following the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution 47/3 of October 14 1992, to promote awareness and mobilise support for critical issues pertaining to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the society.
