The Lagos State government has inaugurated two libraries and ICT centres in Ireti Senior Secondary School and Falomo Senior High School, Ikoyi.
The libraries are equipped with furniture, computers with internet facilities and books.
Special Adviser on Education, Mr Obafela Bank-Olemoh, said the libraries were built through Public-Private Partnership with ARM Group as part of the government’s Project 350 initiative.
He said the initiative, which is focused on building libraries and ICT centres in all public secondary schools across the state, falls under the larger objective to increase Lagosians’ access to knowledge.
Bank-Olemoh thanked the management of ARM Group for collaborating with the government on the libraries.
He reiterated the commitment of Governor Akinwumi Ambode to expanding access to knowledge for all Lagosians regardless of their socio-economic background.
ARM Group Chief Executive Officer Ms. Olajumoke Ogundare advised pupils to take advantage of the new facility.
She said the firm views it’s partnership on the library project as it’s contribution to societal development.
“At ARM group, we see any investment in education as very critical for development of our society. That is why we have partnered with Lagos State government to upgrade these libraries,” she said.
