AN Islamic organisation and one of the pioneers of Islamic education in the country, Anwar-Ul-Islam Movement of Nigeria has elected Alhaji Mubashir Ojelade as the National President.
The election was held at Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School, Iponri, on Lagos Mainland.
This followed a crisis that has plagued the organisation for years. The election was at the instance of a court ruling for the harmonisation of different factions.
Ojelade promised to ensure that the movement will gain back its pre-eminent position among various religious organisations in the country.
Also elected as national officers are: Alhaji Uttau Salau (Vice-President); Alhaji Rafiu Adewale (Education Officer); Imam Aguutiade (Legal Officer); Alhaji Hameed Ajani (Treasurer); Major Fatai Shittu (rtd) (Welfare Officer); Alhaji Babatunde Jose Jnr (Publicity Officer) Alhaji Tajudeen Osho (First Assistant General Secretary).
