VICTOR Moses scored as Chelsea beat champions Leicester City 3-0 in the English Premier League yesterday.
Moses, who was starting his second Premier League game in as many matches for Chelsea, scored the Blues’ third in the comprehensive win at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian winger swept home Nathaniel Chalobah’s cheeky assist in the 80th minute to seal the win for Chelsea, which temporarily lifts them up to fifth on the league standings with 16 points from eight matches.
He was substituted moments later with the Chelsea fans giving him a standing ovation, for the second game running while Chelsea’s other goal scorers were Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.
Costa volleyed home his seventh league goal of the season after slack Leicester marking at a corner, and Hazard made Chelsea’s first-half dominance count at Stamford Bridge with their second on 33 minutes.
The visitors, who were second best in the first half, improved after the break and nearly got back into the match when David Luiz turned a Marc Albrighton cross onto his own post.
But Moses made the game safe for Chelsea in the 80th minute, latching onto Nathaniel Chalobah’s back-heel and tucking past Kasper Schmeichel. Moses has now scored twice in the league for the London club this season.
