Trump’s emergence, victory for the people, says don

A former Washington Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Dr Bisi Olawunmi has hailed the emergence of America’s president-elect Donald Trump as victory of people over political elites and machinations.

In a statement at the weekend, the Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Bowen University, Iwo, Osun state, stated that Trump’s victory has reclaimed America from political vultures.

Olawunmi said: “The election of Trump, against all odds, is the triumph of the people over the machinations of the dominant political establishment elite and their surrogates in the mainstream media to determine the course of America.

“It is a peoples’ uprising tantamount to a revolution of sorts. Trump’s victory has demystified the American political oligarchy, routed the Bush-Clinton dynasty and restored power to the people.”

Trump, he pointed out, ran against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party and even the Republican Party, which he said literally disowned and undermined him.

“He became a political orphan but the people became his political orphanage of refuge,” Olawunmi said.

He said the hysterical support of most Nigerians for Clinton was down to a massive propaganda machine heavy in “the ultimate self packaging.”

The emergence of Trump, according to him, can work for Nigeria if government creatively taps into his attacks on corrupt leaders in America.
