Air force chief Omenyi gets N60m bail

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court, Abuja yesterday granted Air force chief AVM Tony Omenyi bail for N60 million with two sureties in the sum of N30million each.

Justice Dimgba said: “The sureties can be private businessmen or civil servant who must not be less than an Assistant Director

“A property in Abuja can be accepted and if the property is going to be in satellite town, then it must be a developed one,” the judge added.

AVM Omenyi is been prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on money laundering charge.

Omenyi and his company Huzee Nigeria Limited were arraigned on a three-count charge of abuse of office and money laundering involving N136,325,000.

The matter was adjourned till December 15 for continuation of trial.
