Cameroonian import, Tamen Medrano has predicted a tough battle between the Super Falcons and the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in today’s final of the African Women’s Cup of Nations in Yaounde.
Medrano who plays football for Nnewi based FC IfeanyiUbah told NationSport that he had just returned from Cameroon on Thursday where he had gone to visit his family members in Limbe and that based on what he has seen of the Indomitable Lionesses whom he watched before coming back to Nigeria, the vociferous fans in Yaounde would aid Cameroon to their first African title.
The former Sunshine Stars’ midfielder hinted that even though Super Falcons are superpowers on the continent based on the amount of titles they have won and their popularity but that the fans could be the 12th on the pitch to ensure that Cameroon pip Nigeria to the title this term.
“The game will be very tough but the fans have been very supportive to the cause of Cameroon and they are going to be the 12th tomorrow (today) to ensure that they beat Nigeria,” Medrano told NationSport.
The Anambra Warriors’ midfielder told SportingLife that he has returned back to Nigeria refreshed and raring to go with the team after placing fourth in the league and winning the 2016 Federation Cup last season.
