Central Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Development Centre, (CBN-EDC), Southwest has trained 3,649 youths in entrepreneurship skills since its inception in March, last year.
The programmes director, Olumide Ajayi, said this during the graduation of 500 people trained in Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
His words: “Of those trained this year alone, more than half have submitted their business plans, 22 start-ups have begun business and 732 businesses have expanded.
“Furthermore, about 490 new jobs have been created and almost 100 SMEs accessed over N144 million as loan for their businesses. Today, about 500 trainees of the Centre are graduating having met the condition of attending minimum 70 per cent class attendance, passing their post-training assessment, submission of business plans and obtained clearance for graduation.”
He advised youths to consider taking up entrepreneurship trainings to be financially free and become employers of labour.
