‘I was offered bribe to fight Fayose’

ROAD Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Chairman in Ekiti State Samuel Agbede has alleged that he rejected a bribe, political appointment and luxury cars from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the administration of Governor Ayo Fayose.

Agbede, who spoke at the inauguration of the first phase of RTEAN secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, claimed  the APC instigated some members to cause crisis in the union.

But APC spokesman Taiwo Olatunbosun described the allegation as a figment of Agbede’s imagination, saying his party won’t join issues with  the RTEAN boss.

Agbede said he would not be intimidated, harassed and threatenedbecause RTEAN constitution always urge members to support the government of the day.

But Olatunbosun said: “I want to say that there is no iota of truth in the allegation; which luxury car have we promised him? He should come out with facts, date, venue and other documents to back his claim. There is no meeting of such and we never did that when we were in government.”
