Akwa United head coach Abdul Maikaba has said he foresees a largely difficult clash at Nigerian top-flight newcomers Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC.
Maikaba said though his side had challenges in the pre-season, the Uyo outfit are determined to deliver the right goods in the top-flight.
“ABS FC are really going to be difficult as we do not have quality information of their players as well as pattern of play.
“We understand they are young and versatile players ever ready to work hard for success.
“However, I believe we are ready for them, going by our own level of preparations for the league season.
“The league opener is sure going to provide a level playing ground for the teams, an opportunity for an away side to grab a good result.
“The encounter is certainly going to be tough as every team will come to the party with their very best squad.
“We had challenges coming to the twilight of the season but we thank the management for rising to the occasion to provide us the needful for the take-off of the league.
“I strongly believe it’s our own turn right now to give back to the management with a result worthy of their investment.
“We are quite hopeful to grind out a good result at ABS to spur us on to further do better in subsequent matches,” said the former Wikki Tourists coach to supersport.com.
