A Magistrate Court sitting in Omi Adio, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday ordered that the six suspects who allegedly killed the Commandant of the Command Secondary School, Apata, Ibadan , Col. Anthony Okeyim, be remanded at the Agodi Prisons in the state capital.
The six suspects – Solomon Agada Emmanuel (20), Bibisoye Kehinde a.k.a. Efrebor (27), Taiwo Adeniyi (34), Ewere Andrew (25), Ephraim Obi (38) and Udobata Onusa-Uze a.k.a. Kaka (28) were arraigned on a three- count charge of robbery, murder and stealing.
Though, the court did not take the suspects’ plea, Magistrate R. A. Ebeloku Mustapha ordered that the charges be read out to them.
The prosecutor, Inspector Fatola Musiliu told the court that the suspects “had on December 11, 2016 at about 10:00 p.m. at the Command Secondary School Apata area of Ibadan in the Ibadan Magistrate District did conspire among themselves to commit felony to wit: robbery and murder and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol.II Laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.”
Magistrate Mustapha after listening to the charges ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Agodi Prisons pending when the legal advice would be given by the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) at the state Ministry of Justice.
The case was later adjourned to March 28 for mention.
