State House Permanent Secretary, Jalal Arabi, yesterday said that only about N5.196 billion had been released out of the total fund appropriated for the State House in the 2016 Budget.
He made the remark while receiving members of the House of Representatives Committee on Special Duties, who were at the State House on oversight function.
According to him, the figure released is about 47 per cent of the amount appropriated, while 52.5% is yet to be released
93.1% of the released funds, he said, has been spent on the projects they were appropriated for.
He said: “All allocations for recurrent expenditure have been received up to December 2016. The State House capital budget has always been situated in five cost centres as against seven under the recurrent, with a total appropriation of N11,140,852,010.
“However, releases were only made to three cost centres. N5,196,581,458.64 was released to date amounting to 47% of the amount appropriated, leaving a balance of N5,745,905,910.36 and representing 52.5%.
