Women and youths yesterday in Kano stormed the streets in solidarity with the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Marching from the Government House to the Emir’s palace and other places, the people, who carried placards with pro-Buhari inscriptions, such as “Buhari mu ke so”, meaning, “It is Buhari we want, we love Buhari”, “Continue the government”, “Buhari we support your fight against corruption”, “Buhari get well quick, shame to corruption”, “Buhari is for equal right and justice,” among others; said the present administration had good intention for the country.
They urged people to support its policies and programmes.
Speaking at the Emir’s palace where the group prayed for the President, the Northern Coordinator of ‘’ISTANDWITHBUHARI,’’ Comrade Kabiru Ishaq, said they held the rally to support the President “because he means well for the country.”
He said: “The billions of Naira recovered by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from looters shows PMB is working to fix the country.”
The National Media Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba (aka) Ice man, said the rally was to support Buhari in his fight against corruption.
He added: “We came out to prove that what Mr. President is doing in the fight against corruption has no tribal or religious colouration.”
Garba said: “The rally demonstrates our support and love for Buhari. We gather to pray for his good health. We hope soon, he will return and continue his good work.”
The Nation reports neither the emir nor any member of the emirate came out to receive the supporters.
