Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo has announced scholarships for 1,000 indigent Egba students.
He said: “To commemorate the Lisabi Day celebration, 1,000 indigent students will receive scholarship from Egba in Diaspora.
“Beneficiaries will be selected on merit, which includes academic performance.
“Egba sons and daughters abroad took it upon themselves to address the educational plight of the beneficiaries, whose parents lack the means to finance their education.”
The Alake said the 21st Lisabi Festival would focus more on exploring various opportunities in agriculture.
The festival, which began with the booming of guns atop Olumo Rock on Monday, will end with a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Ake, on Sunday.
