The deputy governor of Benue state Engr Benson Abounu said he was yet to see the resignation letter of Lobi stars Football of Makurdi Technical Adviser Godwin Uwua .
Engr. Abounu is also the Chairman of Lobi stars Footbal Club of Makurdi .
But day to day activities of the club is managed by Mike Idoko, who is the vice chairman of the club. .
Godwin Uwua in a press released published by SportingLife was said to have tendered his resignation letter to the deputy governor .
Uwua was suspended for three matches by the board of the club for lack of technical and tactical discipline.
But speaking in a telephone interview with SportingLife, the man who Uwua claimed he had tendered his resignation letter to, the deputy governor, denied the report.
“As I speak to you I have not seen his (Uwua) letter of resignation, I’m just hearing it from you, in any case I don’t deal directly with the team there is the vice chairman who you can find out from,” said Abounu and cut the call.
However, a new dimension has been added to the drama as SportingLife gathered that on a day he was said to have resigned his appointment, Uwua was scheduled to formally defect from Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) to ruling All Progressive Party ( APC).
Before he joined Lobi stars as Technical Adviser, Uwua was a PDP chieftain from his Gwer west local government area in Benue state .
