350 TRACE operatives for Obasanjo’s birthday

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) have deployed 350 operatives to control traffic during the four-day opening of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) and 80th birthday celebration of the former President.

Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer Seni Ogunyemi addressed Divisional Commanders during the monthly management meeting at the Corps Headquarters in Abeokuta.

He said the corps mobilised 350 officials, deployed patrol vans, heavy duty motor tow vehicles, motorcycles and standby ambulances for emergencies within Abeokuta metropolis to enhance the free flow of traffic and parking arrangement.

According to him, the Corps will work with the transport and logistics sub-committee to ensure efficient parking arrangements.

Ogunyemi reiterated that the corps, in collaboration with relevant security agencies, will cover all roads leading to Abeokuta to ensure prompt response to emergencies, saying adequate logistics are in place to achieve the goals.

Operatives will also be deployed in Lagos/Ibadan Expressway interchange Sagamu/Ijebu/Benin Expressway, Abekuta/Kobape/Siun, Sango-Ota/Tollgate/Ifo, Papalanto and Ibadan/Odeda/Obantoko/Abeokuta on vehicular patrol, Ogunyemi added.
