An NGO in Nasarawa state, Majalisan Maccido Andaha, has spent N7 million to renovate four blocks of nine classrooms in Mada Community Secondary School, Andaha.
Mr Lucas Sonia, the chairman of the NGO disclosed on Wednesday while handing over the renovated classrooms to the principal of the school, Mr Jonathan Zafi.
He said that the intervention was to create conducive learning environment for students.
According to him, the organisation no society could achieve meaningful progress without sound education, hence its focus on revamping the facilities.
“This association had impacted positively on the lives of people of different communities through embarking on building of clinics, sinking of boreholes, payment of students school fees among others.
“Today, we are handing over four blocks of nine classrooms renovated by our organization and we spent over N7million to utilize standard roofing sheets, ceiling, doors, windows among other building equipments.” he said
Sani urged the students to take their studies seriously to excel in life, and also advised the school authority to protect the facilities.
The chairman reinstated their commitment to key into positive programmes and policies that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
Also speaking, Mr Samson Gamu-Yare, the Chun-Mada, thanked the NGO for its intervention and called for the sustenance of such intervention.
The first class traditional ruler called on other organizations to emulate the gesture in order to improve the standard of education in the state.
He enjoined the people of the state and Nigerians at large, to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political differences.
Responding, the principal of the school expressed gratitude to the organization for the gesture and promised to utilize the facility prudently.
