As the race for governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathers momentum in Anambra State, the South East youths have urged the party to allow a level playing ground for all the aspirants in the race.
In a statement yesterday in Awka, signed by Oyeudo Obinna the publicity secretary of the APC Youths for Change in South East said they were no longer comfortable with the intimidation of the youths by some top politicians.
The youths said the situation had created anxiety in the zone especially as the Anambra governorship election draws closer.
According to the group, “Youths should be given a place in the Nigerian politics. We therefore urge APC as a discipline party not to allow this intimidation to continue. “The Nigerian constitution permits anybody of 35 years and above to contest governorship election provided he is a Nigerian educationally qualified and highly credible to govern Anambra state.”
