Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has told Governor Godwin Obaseki not to rejoice over Tuesday’s Supreme Court judgment because that was only one of the many cases the party have against the Governor.
State Chairman of the PDP Chief Dan Orbih stated this while reacting to the Supreme Court verdict, which affirmed Ahmed Makafi as the authentic national chairman of the party.
Chief Orbih noted that although the party earlier congratulated the governor, the pre-election issues where Obaseki sworn an oath of affidavit over his credentials and educational qualification are still very much alive.
He said: “We abide by the verdict of the Supreme Court but we have the interest to contest the issues with a view to deepen our legal system.
“We don’t want to play to the gallery and assume that all issues have been resolved as a party that is anxious to take over the government of Edo State in 2019.”
