I have experience to be Ekiti gov, says Bamidele

Less than four years after running for the governorship of Ekiti State, former House of Representatives member Opeyemi Bamidele is back in the race again declaring his readiness to run in the 2018 poll.

Bamidele said he has the requisite experience, exposure and pedigree gained from private business, executive and legislative positions to occupy the highest office in the state to provide good governance for Ekiti people.

The lawyer-turned politician was the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the June 21, 2014 governorship election but he hopes to run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s Ekiti governorship race.

Bamidele spoke with reporters after his investiture as the Patron of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) of Nigeria, Ekiti State chapter.

He said: “The beauty of it is that, all the aspirants shall have the

opportunity to tell the party and Ekiti people what we have in our manifestos.

“During my sojourn in Lagos, I served as Special Adviser, Political Matters, Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development and Commissioner for Information. During those years, I worked with 27 Permanent Secretaries, and 76 Directors among countless of staff.

“Human materials’ management has been part of my life. I have also practised Law for 25 years. So, we are contesting this election based on loaded experience on our side.

“I have the experience about the workings of the executive  and legislative arms as a former commissioner and member of the House ofRepresentatives, I know what the rules are. I know the rudiments of checks and balances in relation to intergovernmental relations, so I remain the best for this race.”
