MEDIA personality and actor Steve Onu, aka Yaw, and CEO Buckwyld Media, Efe Omoregbe have been selected as part of the Jury for this year’s Centre for Law and Business (CLB), Spelling Bee which is expected to hold in Lagos.

According to the organisers, the programme is aimed at improving syntax and semantics in students and help them cultivate a healthy reading habit as it encourages them to improve and display their vocabulary and spelling prowess.

Speaking at the media unveil recently, Bunmi Jasmin Omoke, a representative of Centre for Law and Business, said that the Institution is looking at improving the quality of education among youths and teenagers through the competition.

“CLB Academy being an educational institution is moving towards solving the foundational problems that we find in Nigeria today with our undergraduates, primary and secondary school students. We found out that there has been a drop in the quality of education, spellings, and communication skills which are going extinct.

“What CLB is doing is using the spelling Bee program is to support the program actually, offer scholarship to the winners thereby encouraging the quality of education and communication among our youths and teenagers out there,” said Omoke.

She further stated that entries for the competition are open to Primary School and secondary school students. Winners will be rewarded with N500, 000, N250, 000 and N150, 000 respectively in scholarships as well as cash prizes and gift items.

Registration is now open and closes on Friday 10th November, 2017 as the preliminary stages of the competition will hold at the Governance Hall of Centre for Law and Business. The Grand Finale will feature 9 finalists who will compete against each other from all categories.
