The newly installed Elejigbo of Langbasa in Eti Osa East Local Government of Lagos, Oba Hafeez Badiru, has assured the town and environs will witness massive infrastructural and human capital development during his reign.
He spoke last week during his final coronation rites witnessed by government functionaries and other monarchs in the State.
The royal father, who took on the title Kajerojaiye 1, described his ascension to the throne as a turning point in the affairs of Langbasa kingdom.
Badiru pledged to operate an open-door –policy where everyone will have the opportunity to contribute his or her quota to the affairs and development of Langbasa town.
He vowed to use his reign to rebrand Langbasa Kingdom to facilitate economic development, encourage cultural rebirth and maximise the tourism potentials as well as harnesse the human and material resources of the town for the benefit of all.
The monarch also assured he will sponsor programmes to promote education, assuring no indigene or resident in Langbasa will be left out in formal and informal education.
He also appealed for the support of Langbasa indigenes at home and in the Diaspora for the town to take its rightful position in the state.
Oba Badiru was presented staff of office on April 25 by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode after harmonisation by the Elejigbo family and the entire sons and daughters of Langbasa community.
Acting Commissioner for Transport, who was also the Chairman of the coronation committee, Anofiu Elegushi, urged the monarch to ensure peace reigns in his domain.
“This is the time to come together and chart the way forward for the development of Langbasa and its environs.
“Our Kabiyesi, the vibrant Elejigbo of Langbasa has a good vision that will development and improve on the standard of living of the people.
“His socio economic and political background is a network that can be explored for development purposes,” he stated.
