Sam Okenye ‘Take It’ to next level

GREAT Life Entertainment act, Sam Okenye, on last week Saturday, November 25, launched his latest album, Take It. The event which held at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, was opened by gospel singer, Eben, who thrilled the audience. He was followed by Onos , Annie J, Queeyano Ohunene and others ministering to the congregation.

Introduced by hosts of the show, MC Abbey and Gloria Maduka, Sam, who is also a Cyber-security professional opened his performance with the track titled, ‘Only God’. The fans, however couldn’t resist the incredible groove when he performed Take It, which is also the album title.

‘Take It’ is a 10-track album written by Sam Okenye and produced by Wole Oni.

While expressing his gratitude on the launch, the multi-talented gospel artiste said it is a dream comes true.

“I’m very happy and I give glory to God, it a dream comes true,” said Sam, who interpreted ‘Take It’ to mean to takes what belongs to you, saying God has a good plan for humanity.

“Like I said, while I was on stage, right from my youth I know God gave me this talent. But my professional life didn’t give me time for it, it got to a point in my life I just realized that if I don’t do this, I have a question to answer meeting my creator. I know that the good music is lacking and I want my song to inspires people, I want those who have challenges today to believe that God can turn things around for them. ”

Speaking on balancing his professional job with music career said he will definitely do well combining both.

“My music career won’t affect my jobs,” said Sam who is also an e-business security strategist, certified information systems auditor, certified risk and control professional and a fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria.

“You can see all bosses and my colleagues are here. The reality is that, I work as cyber security from Monday through Friday. And on weekend I go to the studio. I sleep in the studio all night. When God has given you a mandate, you need to sacrifice. Nothing good come so cheap, so I sacrifices my weekends, even on Sunday after church service, I go to the studio.”

Sam has released a number of inspirational singles such as Can’t Stop Praising and Only God.
