Nations Cup: Nigeria beaten again

 

The Nigerian Men Handball National team was beaten by Egypt 27-22 in their second game at this year’s Africa Nations Cup taking place at Le Palais des Sports de Libreville, Libreville, Gabon.  

It was an improved performance by the Nigerian team that stood toe to toe with the reigning champions for the better part of the game. But the Egyptians paid attention to details to defeat their Nigerian counterpart. The first half ended 12-10, while the second stanza ended 15-12 for a total score of 27-22 in favour of the Egyptians.

The defeat leaves the Nigerian team with no win from two games having lost to Angola 23-16 in the opening game yesterday. The Egyptians have two win from two games after beating Morocco 33-28 yesterday and still occupy the second spot in the group. Angola with two wins, but a superior goal difference leads the group.   

The Nigerian team takes on Congo DR in a must win game tomorrow.
