Kano Rep Dogawa defends President

Dapchi School Attack: A national disaster - Buhari

A member of the House of Representatives Ado Doguwa (APC, Kano) yesterday described as unfortunate the special statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo which wrote off President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as non performing.

Doguwa told a news conference in Abuja that former President Obasanjo lacks the moral and political credibility to advise the president not to seek a second term.

He spoke in his personal capacity, saying: “The former President, who was used to engage in very unreasonable political comments should know that he cannot in any way be a stumbling block to the popular desire of Nigerians to give President Buhari a second term to rule this great nation, which unfortunately was put to a state of economic and political quagmire by the likes of Obasanjo and his cohorts.

”It is also pertinent to note that the former President lacks moral and political credibility to even speak in the way he is doing on political affairs of our country.

”It is against this background that I want at this point of our democratic journey to nationhood, Dogawa to urge my good country men and women to disregard the destructive comments made by the former President.

”Nigerians should consider him as mere confusionist, mischievous and an enemy of true democracy in Nigeria as he has always been”.

Doguwa urged President Buhari not to relent in his fight against corruption, as well as his efforts on security and economic reconstruction, Doguwa implored him not to be distracted by the likes of Obasanjo, “Who failed this country and disappointed our people when they had public trust in their hands”
