The Leader of the Legislative Arm of Ikorodu Local Government, Isaa Salmon Abayomi has presented the 2018 Approved Budget of the council to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina.
The approved sum of N1, 515,118,901.61 billion for this year was an appreciable increase over that of last year which was N1.2 billion.
During the presentation, the Leader of the House, Hon. Abayomi pledged his support for the development of the local government. He also said the Legislative Arm of the Council was committed to complementing the efforts of the executive to ensure progress and development of the Adesina-led administration.
In his address, the council chief commended the Legislative Arm for the speedy manner with which it scrutinised the budget proposal and its prompt approval. He promised to abide by the contents of the approved budget.
Adesina further said the chunk of the approved budget tagged “Budget of Upliftment” would be expended on education, primary health care delivery services, construction and rehabilitation of roads and installation of street lights on some of the inner roads.
The council chief applauded Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his foresight, even as he said the governor is always concerned about the well-being of the people. He enjoined all to support Mr Ambode’s second term bid for better Lagos.
