The 20th Makun Obaruwa Cultural Festival peaked on February 24. The Ansar-ud-deen Primary School field in Sagamu, where it all went down received important dignitaries, including His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ile-Ife. The Akarigbo of Remo, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Torungbuwa II, the chief host, His Royal Highness, Oba Timothy Akinsanya, the Ewusi of Makun and others helped add class to the event.
The event was colourful, thanks to Oba Adetola EmmanuelKing, the Group Managing Director of ADRON Homes and Properties.
During the 2017 edition of the festival, EmmanuelKing was installed as the first-ever Akile of Makun Sagamu Kingdom. Then, he vowed to elevate Obaruwa Festival, the annual celebration of the cultural heritage of the Makun people, into an international tourism event.
The festival witnessed football tournament, beauty pageant and so on. A Toyota Matrix car donated by ADRON Homes and Properties Limited was the take-away prize of the Most Beautiful Girl in Makun Kingdom.
The winners of the Makun Inter Village/Community Cultural Competition smiled home with a star prize of an 18-passenger Toyota Bus donated by ADRON Homes and Properties Limited.
The Chairman, Obaruwa Festival Planning Committee, Oye Oduguwa, said: “There is no denying the fact that Obaruwa Festival has been taken to the next level through the support of all, especially our Akile of Makun Kingdom and GMD of ADRON Homes and Properties, Oba Adetola EmmanuelKing, who donated an 18-passenger bus to the winner of cultural display and another Toyota Matrix Car for the Winner of the Miss Obaruwa Beauty Pageant.”
