The retired General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Prophet Samuel Abiara, has assured the 2019 general elections will be peaceful.
He told Nigerians not to fret or panic but be rest assured there won’t be violence before and during the elections.
He offered assurances God will soon arrest those troubling the peace and stability of the country.
Speaking at a special thanksgiving service in his honour at the CAC AgbalaItura Ibadan, the renowned cleric called on all candidates to play mature politics and not imbibe the do- or- die approach to politics.
The event was attended by former President OlusegunObasanjo; National Chairman Peoples Democratic Party, Prince UcheSecondus; formerOndo governor OlusegunMimiko; monarchs and community leaders, among others.
Speaking on the state of the nation Abiara, flanked by his new wife, warned selfish politicians to desist or be exposed by God.
He also condemned agitators of self-defence, urging security agents to rise to the challenge of protecting lives and property.
The cleric, who formally introduced his new wife to the whole congregation, also disclosed plans to launch his non- governmental organisation, Abiara Divine Foundation whose mandate would be to cater for the fatherless, motherless, helpless senior citizens, widows and widowers as well as indigent students.
In his sermon, Prof. Anthony Imevbore said thanksgiving is not an option but mandatory in the life of any Christian, describing it as a duty that must always be performed.
