82 Division soldiers raid militia camp

Personnel of 72 Special Forces Battalion Makurdi under the 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Enugu have reportedly raided suspected militia camp at Tomatar community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

A release by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 82 Division, Colonel Musa Sagir, said that the raid was carried around about 6am on Thursday through a tipoff.

He said one militia was wounded, another neutralised and one arrested, adding the suspects were being interrogated by the Military Police.

Sagir disclosed two pieces of AK 47 rifles, 250 round of 7.62 mm ammunition, three machetes were recovered from the militia by the soldiers.

“Communities at the fringes of Benue and Nasarawa States are please requested to be more vigilant and report any suspicious person (s)/movement to the security outpost nearer to them,”  Sagir added.
