Boy’s body found in stream at Ilorin

The body of a boy, identified as Ibrahim Shuaib, was yesterday found near a stream at Kuntu/Oja-Tuntun area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

Ibrahim’s body was discovered by traders on their way to market.

He was an Arabi/Qur’anic studies student.

His teacher, Ustaz Yunus Apo, said Ibrahim was in good health the previous night when they parted.

“It is a misery that Ibrahim is dead. I wouldn’t believe it if I had not seen the body. He was having fun with his friends last night; it was one of his friends who came to break the news to me.”

Ibrahim’s friend, who pleaded for anonymity, said he was hale and hearty before they parted ways the previous night.

He wondered why and when he woke up and went to the stream, only to be found dead.

“I was surprised to hear of Ibrahim’s death, until I saw his body at the stream.”

Police spokesman Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident.

He said: “It is true. We heard that he jumped into the river to swim and died.

‘’His remains have been taken to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital mortuary.”
