The convener of the New Nigerian 2019 Movement, (NN19), Dr. Chima Anyaso, has rejected an offer from All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, Chief David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex) to seek political office on the party’s platform.

Anyaso is aspiring for the Bende Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

But during a recent courtesy call on Anyaso at his country home in Igbere, Abia State, Onuoha invited him to join APGA.

Onuoha, an APGA Senatorial candidate for Abia North zone in 2015, was optimistic that Anyaso could actualise his political ambition under any platform.

But Anyaso said: “I would like to thank you Chief Ogba Bourdex for leading this delegation to visit me, I have known you for over 20 years. You are an upright man and a good business mentor to me. For the past 10 years we have exchanged visits with our families every other Holiday. This shows how much we are affiliated and our close relationship.

“I thank you for offering me your platform, but I will remain in the PDP because I believe in this party and its true nationalistic ideals coupled with my personal relationship with my governor, Dr. Okezie Ipkeazu, which makes it even more plausible that the Bende developmental renaissance of my dream can be better achieved under his visionary leadership.”

Earlier, Bourdex praised Anyaso’s commitment to ensuring that the voices of youths can be heard, adding that recent activities of the NN19 movement had changed the political landscape in favour of youths.

He urged Anyaso to remain steadfast in youth advocacy.
