The family of a man, Babatunde Oshin, has raised concern over his alleged harassment by unidentified persons.
It was learnt that Oshin, a civil servant, became a recipient of threat messages in February 2017, for allegedly exposing some people involved in a water project scam.
According to his family, Oshin’s wife, Adetutu, was also abducted by yet –to- be identified persons.
Adetutu was however rescued by members of a local vigilance group in Agege, a Lagos suburb, where her abductors waited for a vehicle to transfer her to another location.
The incident, according to the family was reported to the police station in Agege and there is ongoing investigation of the incident.
The family’s spokesperson, Ms Toun Ademola disclosed that unknown fiendish persons had been visiting the family house at Ogba, Ikeja, asking for Babatunde and his wife and threatening to further deal with them.
’‘Before she was rescued from her abductors, the kidnappers asked Adetutu to convince her husband to stop the investigation of the fraud in his office in order to regain her freedom.
‘’Adetutu was very frightened and was crying. She said that she was almost raped and was beaten mercilessly by her abductors when they failed to agree among themselves on whether to collect ransom or kill her to punish her husband for exposing their sponsors’ complicity in the project scam.
She added: “Penultimate Tuesday, no fewer than 15 men again stormed our family house at Ogba, Ikeja, asking for the whereabouts of our brother ( Babatunde), a staff member of the Ministry of Water, and his wife, Adetutu. They left after a futile search of our house, and threatened to return before too long to deal with our brother and his wife. As a concerned family, we fear that these fiendish persons might still come back to terrorise our family, hence, we decided to cry out for help.”
