Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant, Ayoola Lawal on Friday commended the Nigerian 8th Senate for passing the repeal and re-enactment of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
Lawal in a conversation with The Nation noted that the passing of 2018 budget with a percent of the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) to fund basic health care across the nation also deserved some accolades.
The APC Scandinavia Chairman, however, observed that there are few issues more important to the economic foundation and public health care of Nigeria than the above.
He said: “The passing of CAMA Acts and the appropriation of 1% of CRF for public healthcare are the grand milestones ever achieved by the Nigerian Senate in my perspective. The Senator Bukola Saraki-led 8th National Assembly just laid the basic foundation for a serious and genuine economic institution for Nigeria. If well implemented, huge are the implications for the health sectors and the Nigerian economy.
“Without a doubt, with the passage of CAMA Acts, Nigeria´s business environment will now genuinely join the leagues of competitive business environments on the globe.
“Most of the bottlenecks especially the analogue business registration and outdated regulatory provisions will become things of the past. Partnering, starting businesses and running a business will now become easy from any part of the globe.
“It will further contribute to the inflow of foreign direct investment into Nigerian economy day in/day out. The approbation of 1% of CRF for the basic healthcare depicts that quite an average Nigerian will now be having access to free basic healthcare and less death due to health issues.
“With the above developments and constant demand for transparency and good governance, Nigeria will one day become the Nation of our dream once again.”
