Two persons, Awoduyilemi Charles, 34 and Matthew Okon, 46, have appeared at an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
The defendants, whose addresses are unknown, are facing a one-count charge of theft.
Prosecutor Johnson Okunade told the court the accused allegedly committed the offences on May 17, about 3 am, at Ekute Quarters, Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged the defendants stole a Bajaj motorcycle, registered as LSR 810 QC, valued at N250,000, belonging to Tolorunju Joel.
Okunade said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
He asked the court for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and assemble his witnesses. The defendants pleaded not guilty.
Their lawyer, Mr. Emmanuel Adedeji, urged the court to grant the accused bail, promising they will not jump bail.
Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye granted the accused bail at N100,000 with one surety.
He adjourned the case till June 13 for hearing.
