Kinsmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman for Southeast, Emma Eneukwu, have rejected his endorsement to return to the party’s National Working Committee.
Eneukwu, with the National Organising Secretary Osita Izunaso, and National Auditor George Moghalu, were last week endorsed to return to the NWC.
But under the platform of Enugu West Peoples Assembly, which claimed to be inclined with APC ideology, Eneukwu’s kinsmen disagreed with the endorsement and insisted that the office should be handled by a reliable person.
They addressed reporters at the 9th Mile Corner, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu state.
Led by their chairman, Ogbuefi Okwy Obasiorji, the kinsmen said their preferred candidate was Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, a former Secretary to Enugu State government.
They said: “In Enugu APC, there are people who have been spending their money when APC was not a beautiful bride. They were tagged Boko Haram and called all sorts of names, but they stayed resolute.
“Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, who branded 20 buses for the presidential campaigns in 2015, and led the campaign for Buhari’s elections, was mocked but he stood his ground.
