Three APC stalwarts freed in Rivers

The three stalwarts of the Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), John Enebeli, Austin Enebeli, and Afam Onyia, who were kidnapped last weekend on Elele-Omoku Road, have been freed.

They were released yesterday but the details were sketchy last night.

Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni  said the command and other security agencies pressurised the abductors and combed Elele/Omoku forest before the politicians were released He said no ransom was paid.

APC spokesman Chief Chris Finebone said: “We thank God Almighty for the release of John Enebeli, Austin Enebeli and Afam Onyia.

“They were kidnapped on Elele-Omoku Road last weekend. This morning (yesterday), they regained freedom. They are undergoing treatment.

“We thank our leader, the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, APC state Chairman, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, other leaders of the party and security agencies for their intervention, which facilitated the release of the politicians.”
