Advertising practitioners meet in Oyo

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) has kicked off their Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The event, which started yesterday at Owu Crown Hotel (formerly Golden Tulip), will end on Saturday.

OAAN President Tunde Adedoyin noted this year’s AGM is strategic as it presents a platform for repositioning and agenda setting for the association.

The theme this year is “Global OOH Best Practice and the Nigerian Situation”.

He said: “There are number of issues that are strategic to the future of the industry that are primed for consideration at the meeting; reviews of regulations guiding the body, adoption and upgrade of new members and more importantly, setting the pace for the future of the profession in Nigeria.”

Adedoyin added that besides advertising, the AGM also serves as a platform to bond and forge ties among practitioners.

Femi Ogala, the body’s general secretary, stressed that despite the business outlook of the AGM, a number of bonding and relaxing activities have been put in place.

“We are hoping to make some landmark adoption from the meeting, including reviewing our activities and the financials of the outgoing business year as a body.

‘’…various activities that would get members to relax, network … have been lined up. These include: visit to government functionaries, excursion to places of interest in Ibadan, sporting activities, such as Novelty Match, Track Events and the Gala Night”.
