Council boss donates wheel chairs, artificial legs to physically-challenged

Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman Alhaja Funmilayo Akande-Muhammed has donated 20 wheel chairs and five artificial legs to the physically-challenged.

The council boss also empowered some youths and widows.

The aged got financial assistance.

These are parts of the activities marking Alhaja Akande-Muhammed’s one year in office.

She promised that her administration would remain focused in its efforts to serve the people and provide a responsive and reliable leadership.

She said: “We have come up with people-oriented programmes in the areas of empowerment such as skills acquisition and poverty alleviation, infrastructural development, presentation and distribution of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private school series one.

“We have constructed and completed an ultra-modern Library; we have completed construction of interlocking road at Amusu Street Sari and construction of roads and drainage at Church Street, Badia. We embarked on palliative work on Fadaini Street, Obale road, while Sule Lane is almost completed.”

She said the one year activities commenced with the presentation of officials vehicles to the legislators.
