Three dead in Kogi accident

Three persons were burnt to death and five others injured in yesterday’s accident on Zariagi-Lokoja highway in Kogi, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Spokesman of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed this,  said nine persons and three vehicles – Toyota Carina, Scania Truck and Mack Tanker – were involved in the accident.

Kazeem said one person survived unhurt; and blamed the accident on over speeding.

He said: “The deceased were burnt with the vehicles. The injured were taken to Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.”

The spokesman added that an FRSC rescue team evacuated the wreckage.
