One of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Ogun State, Otunba Adewale Adenaike has applauded the adoption of open primaries in the forthcoming governorship election by the party in the state.
Adenaike said open primaries ”is the best choice to give the people a choice to pick their candidate according to their conscience.”
Addressing some youths who paid him a solidarity visit at his campaign headquarters in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Adenaike said that the new policy will afford the youths a great opportunity to cast their votes for aspirants of their choice without being induced.
He said that members of the party should hail Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s new agenda and support his re-engineering activities to reposition the party. “I call on you to support the open primaries policy which has given the youths a voice to elect their leaders under a free and fair process that will usher in the best candidate to contest the governorship election in Ogun State. The open primaries policy is another milestone in the leadership stride of our amiable national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in his efforts to raise the bar of progress in our great party.”
He told the youths to shun stipends from those who have nothing to offer but would only from the developmental process of the government if they are eventually elected into office stressing that the stipend they receive today is the future suspended.
On the issue of his photograph wrongfully placed beside the story of a certain cleric recently in a newspaper publication, the aspirant said that although he is a Christian, but that he is not prejudiced in his belief stressing that only God can determine the righteous.
