Beneficiaries of O’YESS programme of Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola will be placed into planned agricultural revolution programme, if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the September 22 election, the party’s candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, has said.
Oyetola, who spoke while hosting a delegation of the British High Commission, led by Wale Adebajo, in his Ileri Oluwa Situation Office in Osogbo, the state capital, also said aggrieved contestants in the outcome of APC primary had reconciled with him “and even indicated readiness to work for the success of the party in the coming election”.
The APC candidate said the only person who did not accept reconciliation had joined another party.
He added that the focus of his administration would be poverty alleviation, economic empowerment and human capital development.
Oyetola said plans were afoot to establish farm settlements in each of the nine Federal constituencies.
He said: “The pilot beneficiaries to operastionalise the move will be O’YESS cadets.”
The nine (Federal) constituencies include Ife, Ijesha South, Ijesha North, Ifelodun, Ila, Ede, Ikire, Iwo and Osogbo.
Oyetola said: “We have some farm centres and we will ensure they have adequate amenities to encourage youths to be attracted into farming. We will make amenities available in urban and rural areas. Through this, we can create many jobs.”
The APC candidate pledged that his administration would be fully committed to the programme as a launch pad for revolutionary experience in agricultural production.
