All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee Chairman in Kwara State Bashir Bolarinwa has said his committee remains the authentic executive in the state.
Bolarinwa, who spoke in Ilorin when he visited the state police command, said: “I use this opportunity to tell you that as far as APC is concerned in Kwara State, no other set of people will represent APC other than the people here today. Our coming here today is to visit the command.
“We got this assignment about two months ago after the Ishola Balogun-Fulani-led faction was dissolved by the National Working Committee (NWC), which set up a caretaker committee, headed by me.
“We have come here to interact and know one another better. This is the beginning of good things to come.
“I laud the commissioner of Police for a good job because since you assumed office, we have had good reports about you and your work.”
Commissioner of Police Aminu Saleh promised that the police will continue to provide security for all, including political parties.
He said: “The visit is timely because since the committee was set up, we have not formally met with members. This is an important opportunity for us to know one another well so that we can relate more effectively.
“Our primary responsibility is to ensure security; without that political game cannot be played well. In that regards, we shall continue to give our assistance to all parties.”
The dissolved executive has urged members and ward chairmen with their working committee to be prepared to register new members and re-validate old members.
Balogun-Fulani, who addressed reporters in Ilorin, said the party register would be distributed to every ward, adding that old members for revalidation should produce their cards for authentication.
