All is now set for Lagos to host the entire African continent as the 2018 edition of Rotary International Zone 20A Institute kicks off on September 11, 2018 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, which is the biggest ever of any Rotary gathering hosted in Nigeria is being packaged by Districts 9110, 9141, 9142, and 9125, the four Districts in Nigeria.
Speaking on the level of preparation for the Institute the Convener, Rotary International Director, Yinka Babalola stated that Rotary Institutes are strategic to galvanizing growth of the organisation at regional level as it serves as a training ground for all future leaders at the Districts level and above as well as other Rotarians who have the burning desire to learn about the nature, functions and operations of Rotary beyond local club level.
The RI Director said further that the forthcoming Institute in Lagos will put on the front burner, efforts and strategies to grow Rotary’s membership in Zone 20A (Africa) to a number that will enhance the actualization of its status as a single entity zone.
He also said the event, being a high profile gathering is expected to have in attendance, the crème-de-la-crème within and outside Nigeria.
“We have received confirmation that the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo would be declaring the Institute open on the 13th of September 2018” he said, adding that some International Speakers and guests such as would also be in attendance.
